The Merz Foundation, Turin, in collaboration with theEmilio Prini Archive, presents from Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2019 to Sunday, Feb. 9, 2020, a solo exhibition conceived by the Merz Foundation as a tribute to artist Emilio Prini (Stresa, 1943 - Rome, 2016). A tribute to a controversial, elusive, certainly brilliant, ironic, authentic and provocative artist. The exhibition is also an opportunity to trace a bond of friendship and deep esteem between Emilio Prini and Mario Merz.
For the first time, a nucleus of more than forty works by Emilio Prini, from 1966 to 2016, is brought to the exhibition to activate a critical and historical reflection around the experience of one of the most interesting representatives of Arte Povera.
The exhibition itinerary and layout were conceived by the curators in respect of the artist’s philosophy also thanks to the deep knowledge and closeness with the man Prini, friend and father.
