An exhibition in Rome on Giorgione to explore the labyrinths of the heart

From June 24 to September 17, 2017, an exhibition in Rome explores the labyrinths of the heart starring Giorgione.

Kicking off tomorrow until September 17, 2017 is"Labyrinths of the Heart. Giorgione and the Seasons of Feeling between Venice and Rome," an exhibition that runs between Palazzo Venezia and the National Museum of Castel Sant’Angelo.

The exhibition is designed around a painting by Giorgione, the Double Portrait preserved in the National Museum of Palazzo Venezia. A masterpiece that highlights a new idea of portraiture, where the state of mind and the expression of feelings of love are shown.

In the first section, the historical and artistic events of the early 16th century are presented; in the second section, at Castel Sant’Angelo, works by great artists such as Titian, Tintoretto, Romanino, Bronzino, and Barocci are exhibited that deal with the representation of feelings in art.

The exhibition is curated by Enrico Maria Dal Pozzolo in collaboration with a prestigious scientific committee; it is promoted and organized by the Polo Museale del Lazio and Civita Mostre.
