French writer Raymond Roussel died on July 14, 1933 in the room of the Grand Hotel et Des Palmes in Palermo where he was staying. And it is in this hotel that an exhibition dedicated to him will take place, opening May 11 through November 2018.

Entitled simply "Raymond," the exhibition cultivates a poetic vocation and makes use of the contributions of many artists (such as Lucia Amara, Meris Angioletti, Maria Anwander, and Massimo Bartolini, to name a few) who enrich the hotel’s private and common spaces, and who go on to form a temporary and parallel world, with exhibits visible only to those of a room who have the keys or have booked it.“Raymond,” the presentation reads, "is a public event that ironically tests the limits of privacy and sharing. It is a project that opens itself to the world, to the educated traveler, to the professional tourist.

“Raymond” is a project of the artist Luca Trevisani in collaboration with Olaf Nicolai and Fondazione per l’Arte onlus in Rome and is realized in partnership with the Grand Hotel et Des Palmes, the Museo Civico di Castelbuono (PA), the support of Marsèll, Humboldt Books, Fiasconaro, Casa della Vigna, in collaboration with Giovanni Brancato’s Atmosphere, Saponi&Saponi, Casa Museo del Sapone, Planeta.

June 17 - Humboldt Books 2018 Book Launch Grand Hotel et des Palmes via Roma 398, Palermo 5 pm;
July 14 - Raymond Roussel is found dead in room 224 Grand Hotel et des Palmes, via Roma 398, Palermo;
