The rooms of Palazzo Pallavicini in Bologna will host the Botero exhibition dedicated to the celebrated Colombian artist from October 12, 2019 to January 26, 2020.
Curated by Francesca Bogliolo in collaboration with the artist, and promoted by Pallavicini S.r.l., consisting of Chiara Campagnoli, Deborah Petroni and Rubens Fogacci, and sponsored by the Municipality of Bologna and theColombian Embassy in Italy, the exhibition will present the public with fifty unique works never before seen in Bologna: a series of mixed-media drawings and a selection of watercolors on canvas.
Divided into seven sections, the exhibition will illustrate themes dear to the artist, such as bullfighting and the circus, still lifes, nudes and characters drawn from the religious world. His art combines Italian classicism and South American culture through a figurative and personal style capable of concealing the secrets of life under abundant volumes.
The common thread of the exhibition is creative freedom and monumentality. The installation has been designed with theAcademy of Fine Arts of Bologna and created in collaboration with the two-year specialized course in Scenography and exhibition and museum space settings.
