Alis/Filliol's first Milan solo show at Fondazione Pomodoro

The first Milan solo show of the Alis/Filliol duo, among the most appreciated on the Italian contemporary scene, is underway at the Pomodoro Foundation.

It is one of today’s most appreciated Italian art projects: the duo Alis/Filliol, formed by Davide Gennarino (Pinerolo, 1979) and Andrea Respino (Mondovì, 1976) arrives in Milan with their first solo exhibition in the city, held at the Fondazione Arnaldo Pomodoro and entitled eud - Project Room #5.

Curated by Simone Menegoi, the exhibition presents the public with a large new work, created especially for the place that hosts it, and which, as per the typical stylistic signature of the two Piedmontese artists, revises the art of sculpture in an innovative way, with a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional techniques. The work, which is entitled eud, is a work with an almost mythological flavor, presented shrouded in a fog that reinterprets the concept of “unfinished” in a completely unexpected key. “Alis/Filliol’s,” reads the curator’s presentation, “is not only a work of sculpture, but also a work about sculpture: about its history, its genres, its traditional techniques.”

The exhibition ends Oct. 27 and is open Tuesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 7 p.m. Free admission. Information on the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation website.
