From April 12 to July 24, 2022, the Ricci Oddi Gallery in Piacenza presents the exhibition Klimt. The Man, the Artist, His World, which aims to recount the artistic journey and collaborations of the master of the Viennese Secession: Gustav Klimt (Baumgarten, 1862 - Vienna, 1918).
The exhibition also wants to celebrate the return to the Gallery, its original home, of the famous Portrait of a Lady, a masterpiece by Klimt mysteriously stolen in 1997 and found in December 2019, in a compartment along the outer wall of the Piacenza museum. The work has already been featured in the major exhibition dedicated to the artist held at the Museo di Roma in Palazzo Braschi until March 27, 2022.
And now it makes its return to the Ricci Oddi Gallery. In addition to the latter, 160 works are on display, including paintings, sculptures, graphics, and decorative art artifacts from twenty prestigious public and private collections, including the Belvedere Museum in Vienna, the Klimt Foundation, Ca’ Pesaro-Galleria Internazionale d’Arte Moderna in Venice, the Lentos Museum in Linz, the Tiroler Landes Museum in Innsbruck, the Wien Museum, and many others.
