The exhibition spaces of the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan will host the exhibition Zerocalcare from December 15, 2022 to April 7, 2023. After the Bang, conceived by Silvia Barbagallo, produced by Minimondi Eventi and Arthemisia, promoted by the City of Milan-Cultura and curated by Giulia Ferracci. Following the success of the animated series on Netflix written and directed by Michele Rech, a.k.a. Zerocalcare, titled Tear Along the Edges, the cartoonist will be the protagonist of a major Milanese exhibition, in which themes such as the fragmentation of certain social battles in the aftermath of the pandemic, the rise of fears in theera of a global crisis and conflict in the heart of Europe, the forced isolation and loneliness that have inevitably generated disintegration and caused a loss of contact with reality, as well as politics and resistance, through more than five hundred original plates, videos, sketches, illustrations and a site-specific work.
“The meteorite is not falling. It has fallen,” said Zerocalcare. “Covid gave us a chance to rethink society, to bring out a different spirit, more attentive to others and to the community, but it didn’t happen. The exhibition is about all of that.”
