A tribute exhibition to Joan Miró at Trieste's Museo Revoltella

The Museo Revoltella - Galleria d’Arte Moderna in Trieste presents, from April 29 to September 24, the exhibition Homage to Miró, curated by Achille Bonito Oliva, together with Maïthé Vallès-Bled and Vincenzo Sanfo, and produced by Navigare Srl with the co-production of Diffusione Cultura Srl. Produced together with Art Book Web, it is promoted by the City of Trieste - Department of Culture and Tourism Policies, with the support of the Trieste Convention & Visitors Bureau and PromoTurismoFVG.

Set up in the Museum’s Sala Scarpa, the exhibition will display about eighty works including paintings, temperas, watercolors, drawings, sculptures and ceramics from French museums and private collectors, along with a series of graphic works, books and documents and a multimedia section.

The nucleus of works covers a period of six decades of :’s career from 1924 to 1981, with a focus in particular on the transformation of pictorial languages that the Catalan artist began to develop in the first half of the 1920s and documenting his artistic metamorphoses in the fields of drawing, painting, collage and tapestry works.

Indeed, Miró’s artistic production makes use of a multifacetedness of forms and means of expression, from painting to ceramics to graphic work, through which he expressed his innovative spirit.

Divided into thematic areas inspired by the great artist’s joie de vivre, the exhibition itinerary is accompanied by a photographic section and several previously unseen videos that recount Miró’s private and public life. A multimedia installation is also offered on the ground floor of Museo Revoltella to give the public an immersive experience in Miró’s colors.

There is also an active promotion for which those who stay at least one night in the city by booking directly with participating accommodations will receive a free ticket to the exhibition. All info at www.discover-trieste.it

The exhibition is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Closed on Tuesdays.
