In Monte Vidon Corrado, in the Osvaldo Licini Study Center and House Museum, the major exhibition La regione delle madri will open on July 25. The Landscapes of Osvaldo Licini, the first exhibition entirely dedicated to this theme dear to the artist. The exhibition is held in Licini’s hometown and is promoted by the Marche Region and organized by the Municipality of Monte Vidon Corrado in collaboration with the Osvaldo Licini Study Center. The aim of the exhibition is to investigate Licini’s relationship with the Marche landscape, the French and Swedish views, the pictorial and literary sources, the landscape described in his letters as well as the landscape he drew or painted, his internalization and the cosmic projections of the last years of his production.
It will also be an opportunity to reflect on the chronology of the works of the 1920s and to publish important unpublished documents that help to understand the turn toward fantastic figurativism.
On display will be ninety oils and thirty drawings, including thirty-three from the figurative period, nine abstract paintings from the 1930s and others from the 1940s and 1950s, from Italian and foreign public collections.
