A major anthological exhibition dedicated to Alberto Giacometti will be on view at the Guggenheim in New York from June 8 to September 12, 2018. This is the first major exhibition on the artist in the United States in the past fifteen years.
Visitors will be taken on a discovery of Giacometti’s entire artistic career through 175 works, including sculptures, paintings, drawings and archival materials.
Among the masterpieces on display isHomme qui marche, which had been sold at auction by Sotheby’s in 2010 at a record cost of about 75 million euros.
The anthology is curated by Megan Fontanella, curator of Modern Art and Provenance at the Guggenheim in New York, and Catherine Grenier, director of the Giacometti Foundation in Paris.
