Scheduled from September 15 to 30, 2018, at Villa Bagatti Valsecchi in Varedo (Monza-Brianza) is the exhibition I was 20 years old, which displays the works of 25 contemporary artists of five different nationalities: Ivan Barlafante,Yuting Cheng, Alberto di Fabio, Francesco Fossati, Marta Galbusera, Daesung Lee, Giulia Manfredi, Franco Mazzucchelli, Ryts Monet, Marcello Morandini, Maria Teresa Ortoleva, Noa Pane, Francesca Piovesan, Diego Randazzo, Marika Ricchi, Zheng Rong, Andreas Senoner, Rob van den Berg, Maria Wasilewska.
The exhibition, curated by Sabino Maria Frassà, investigates the theme of the passage of time andyouthful restlessness. They range from documenting the disappearance of a tattoo in Francesca Piovesan’s work Per sempre, to Franco Mazzucchelli’s Bifacciale n4, which demonstrates that creativity is not a youthful prerogative in art and beyond, to works such as Giulia Manfredi’s Psicomanzie, which represents man’s attempt to order reality and survive his own finiteness.
The exhibition opens on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 6:30 p.m. and is free admission.
