The Forever young exhibition curated by Davide Caroli is an opportunity to return to looking at the world through the eyes of a child thanks to the sculptures of Riccardo Zangelmi, the only LEGO® Certified Professionals Italian artist. The exhibition allows a playful immersion in a creative journey that ranges between objects and memories related to the world of childhood and proposes in a new light the concept of ’assembling’ typical of mosaics.
More than 20 works will be on display, to create which more than 800 thousand bricks of different sizes and 60 different colors were used. To celebrate the city of Ravenna, the artist created an original sculpture depicting the supreme poet Dante Alighieri.
Zangelmi offers to the public two-dimensional works, sculptures and design objects, which are born from a rigorous study and a punctual scientific design, but connoted by a playful vein of irony, re-proposing to us in a new light the concept of “assembling” proper to the mosaic, thus allowing us, the gamble of juxtaposing the world’s most famous bricks with ancient tiles, in a Pop version.
Forever young is on display at the Ravenna City Art Museum until January 12, 2020.
