Works by Caravaggio, Bellini, Lippi return to Prato's Palazzo degli Alberti Gallery for temporary exhibition


From Sept. 7 to 9, 2018, the Palazzo degli Alberti Gallery in Prato will reopen to host a temporary exhibition featuring returning masterpieces.

Works by Caravaggio, Giovanni Bellini, and Filippo Lippi, now housed in the Banca Popolare di Vicenza following their acquisition by the latter, are returning to their original home in the Gallery of Palazzo degli Alberti in Prato on the occasion of an exhibition organized for the city of Prato’s most important festival.

Therefore, on September 7, 8 and 9, 2018, the public will be able to admire free of charge in the Prato palace owned by Intesa Sanpaolo a selection of eleven masterpieces created by the great artists mentioned, as well as a number of works from the 16th and 17th centuries from the Florentine area and two sculptures by Lorenzo Bartolini.



Intesa Sanpaolo calls this return “a concrete gesture to return a common heritage to the city.”

Hours: Tours with groups of 25 people every half hour.
Friday, September 7 from 3:30 to 7 p.m.; Saturday, September 8 and Sunday, September 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2:30 to 7 p.m.

Free admission.
