On the evening of Valentine’s Day, the sight of Venus, along with Jupiter, Mars and Orion, becomes an exceptional event scheduled for Friday, February 14, at sunset, on the terrace of the Palazzina di Caccia, towards the historic park.
The evening dedicated to Venus will include a tour of the rooms to discover stories, anecdotes and characters related to the theme of astronomy, such as the princess of Carignano, Giuseppina di Lorena Armagnac (1753-1797), wife of Victor Amadeus of Carignano and grandmother of Charles Albert: an extraordinary woman for her many interests, a great astronomy enthusiast, of whom the Palazzina preserves a portrait in the Levante apartment. At the end of the guided tour, a sky lesson in the Hall of Honor and finally, from the terrace, a guided observation from the telescopes of the Planetarium staff, accompanied by a glass of wine and a savory friandise, organized by the Association for the Protection of Baratuciat and Historical Vines.

On the occasion of the feast of lovers, in the rooms of the exhibition The Renaissance in Brescia. Palazzo Medici Riccardi opens its doors to all lovers to celebrate love in a place of extraordinary beauty. Among Renaissance masterpieces and musical suggestions, the Chapel of the Magi will welcome couples who wish to experience this magical evening with a visit and an exclusive concert by La Filharmonie, inside Benozzo Gozzoli’s famous masterpiece. From 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (reservations required, places are limited) you will be able to visit the patrol walkway and the Tower of Palazzo Vecchio, until you reach the top by walking up the stone staircase made up of 223 steps to reach the last sighting level, from which you can enjoy a wonderful 360-degree view of the city. On the patrol walkway, cheered by the performance of musicians Giada Moretti and Mattia Catarinozzi on saxophone, a special toast will be offered, thanks to the support of Bistrot 74, admiring a romantic view of Florence.

RomAmor, the rich program of free events promoted by Roma Capitale, Assessorato alla Cultura, Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali, is back in the capital from February 13 to 16, aimed at everyone and embracing the city’s art and history from Prehistory to the 20th century, including themed visits, itineraries, creative activities, workshops, theatricalized readings and meetings in museum spaces and on the territory. On Friday, Feb. 14, an itinerary at the Verano Monumental Cemetery, among the burials of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, will tell timeless stories of love and affection, while the Museum of the Walls rethinks its spaces for an exclusive visit dedicated to lovers, and the Museum of the Roman Republic and Garibaldian Memory offers an in-depth look at Colomba Antonietti, a very young heroine of the Roman Republic of 1849; a feminine history the one that will be retraced in the Pigna district, between Piazza della Minerva and Piazza del Collegio Romano, to evoke the figures of the so-called “malmaritate” and “ammantate,” and then be carried away by the charm-filled stories of the Torlonia family at the Museum of Rome in Palazzo Braschi and the “close encounters” between prehistoric human species at the Museum of Casal de’ Pazzi. Jewelry, miniatures and cameos on Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Napoleonic Museum will inspire the creation of one’s own family album, while on Sunday, Feb. 16, the dramatized reading of excerpts from Latin authors will evoke stories of the love and courtship that took place on the stands of the Circus Maximus during the shows, while Cupid is ready to shoot his arrows at the Ara Pacis Museum to tell stories of love between gods, heroes and characters of the Augustan imperial family.
