Until Aug. 31, the second edition of Gibellina PhotoRoad, Italy's first open-air photography festival

Large-scale photographic installations, outdoor exhibitions, meetings and screenings in a city that is one of the largest “open-air” contemporary art museums in the world. This is the Gibellina PhotoRoad,Italy’s first and only open-air and site-specific photography festival, organized by theCultural Association On Image and co-organized by the Orestiadi Foundation, with the artistic direction of Arianna Catania and the patronage of the City of Gibellina, Main Partner Festival Images Vevey.

This is an opportunity to admire some interesting photographic works, presented in the urban space with innovative “open-air” installations, seeking new interactions with the public. On the strength of the success of the first edition, Gibellina PhotoRoad returns this year, for its second edition, with a new and richer program that, for more than a month, from July 26 to August 31, 2019, will bring to the Sicilian town the great authors of photography, alongside young emerging artists from the international scene. Joan Fontcuberta, Mario Cresci, Mustafa Sabbath, Moira Ricci, Tobias Zielony, are just some of the best-known names among those present: together with younger ones, such as Manon Wertenbroek, Gianni Cipriano and Morgane Denzler, they are called to confront a place with a unique history.
