Tuscia Film Fest brings cinema to the Sacred Wood of Bomarzo for the first time

The Tuscia Film Fest brings cinema to the Sacred Wood of Bomarzo for the first time, as part of the In Arte Vicino festival conceived to mark the fifth centenary of Pierfrancesco Orsini's birth.

OnSunday, Aug. 27, 2023, the Tuscia Film Fest brings cinema to the Sacred Wood of Bomarzo for the first time, as part of the In Arte Vicino festival, scheduled through Sept. 15, 2023, on the occasion of the fifth centenary of the birth of Pierfrancesco Orsini, known as Vicino (Rome, July 4, 1523 - Bomarzo, Jan. 28, 1585), creator of the Wood.

At 9 p.m. (with entrance to the Park from 8 p.m.) there will be a screening of Bones and all (Italy-USA, 2022 | English original language version with Italian subtitles) by Luca Guadagnino, a drama/horror film starring Timothéand Chalamet, Taylor Russell, Mark Rylance, winner of the Silver Lion for Best Director at the 79th Venice International Film Festival and the “Marcello Mastroianni” award for Best Newcomer Actor or Actress to Taylor Russell.

Film synopsis: A love story of a sweetness as sublime as it is dark and disturbing, an on-the-road journey of two young American misfits in search of their identity, who share a fierce and devastating appetite that alienates them from the rest of the world and, as much as they yearn to find a place in which they can truly feel at home, leads them to escape. The film is based on the novel of the same name, Bones & All (Down to the Bone) by Camille De Angelis.

The evening will conclude with a talk by director, author and film producer Luca Guadagnino, who will elaborate on the evening’s themes under the banner of cinema.

In Arte Vicino is promoted and organized by the Sacro Bosco di Bomarzo, which is part of the Grandi Giardini Italiani network, in collaboration with major contemporary art parks in central Italy: the Tarot Garden by Niki de Saint Phalle (Capalbio, Grosseto), the Garden of Wonders by Paolo Portoghesi (Calcata, Viterbo), Hic terminus haeret by Daniel Spoerri (Seggiano, Grosseto) and the Scarzuola by Tomaso Buzzi (Montegabbione, Terni).

The festival has the patronage of the National Academy of San Luca, the support of the cultural enterprise Grandi Giardini Italiani, and an agreement with the Academy of Fine Arts of Viterbo and the Tuscia Film Fest.
