On the occasion of the current exhibition at Thun Castle, three appointments with experts to talk about fashion and portraits from the second half of the 19th century.

Castel Thun offers, on the occasion of the ongoing exhibition À la mode française. Stile modelli e modiste per le contesse Thun, three meetings with curator Emanuela Rollandini, archivist at the Provincial Archives Fiammetta Baldo and restorer of the Superintendence for Cultural Heritage Roberto Perini to discuss fashion, artistic techniques and portraits.

Vestivamo à la mode française
Among magazines and colorful fashion figurines, like a fashion show on paper for distant spring-summer seasons, the history of costume in the second half of the 19th century will be retraced and, through this unusual perspective, the little-known events of Giovanna, Maria Antonia and Maria Teresa, Countesses Thun.

The meeting will be given by Fiammetta Baldo and Emanuela Rollandini.

Aug. 2, 6 p.m.
Engraving Fashion
The fashion figurines on display at Thun Castle are made in etching, woodcut or lithography and watercolor by hand. A visit to the exhibition will be an opportunity to discover up close, magnifying glass in hand, the characteristics of the different execution techniques.

The meeting will be held by Emanuela Rollandini and Roberto Perini.

Aug. 9, 6 p.m.
Fashion in portraits
In the rooms of the castle, a sequence of female portraits intercepts the evolution of fashion between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, from the Empire style to the Charleston years, while the personal history of the Thun countesses is intertwined with the great political, social and economic transformations.

The meeting will be held by Emanuela Rollandini.

An aperitif will be provided at the end of the meetings.
