From October 23 to 28, 2023, Rome Art Week returns to the Capital, a week dedicated tocontemporary art that will animate the Eternal City with a rich calendar of solo and group exhibitions, open studios, performances, talks, events and guided tours. Theeighth edition of Rome Art Week enters the Capitoline cultural scene with more than eight hundred participations among galleries, institutions, artists, curators and collectives and with the more than four hundred artistic and cultural proposals spread throughout the metropolitan area .
Each neighborhood will be animated by many and various initiatives in which the public will be able to participate for free and choose among events, exhibitions and appointments, routes and guided tours also through the platform www.romeartweek.com, a portal active all year round that day by day reports the different projects included in the various Municipalities of Rome, openings, events, open studios, as well as international realities present in Rome. Throughout the week many districts of the historic center and some non-central areas, such as Garbatella, San Lorenzo, Pigneto will be animated by guided tours, divided by zones or thematic areas.
Rome Art Week2023 opens the week dedicated to contemporary art with two opening events: RAW 2023 Starting Party, at Hotel Parrasio on Sunday, Oct. 22 from 7 p.m., in collaboration with Digital Girls, an opportunity to connect with creative minds, collectors and art lovers, and on Monday Oct. 23 at 5 p.m. the international exhibition Simbolismi della Visione (Symbolisms of Vision), organized directly by RAW, at the location of Villa Altieri of the Metropolitan City of Rome, curated by Massimo Scaringella, Roberta Melasecca and Fabio Milani, which will feature fifty Italian and foreign artists dialoguing with the history and memory of the Eternal City. Within the exhibition there is also the project Beyond the clouds, curated by Ghislain Robert Mayaud and Art Shares: the Ukrainian artist Aljoscha and the Russian artist Ilya Fedotov-Fedorov will meet in Rome, inside Villa Altieri, to design, create and make available to the public an installation that is the result of a collaboration full of meanings, expressive force, and communicative value.
Rome Art Week is a totally independent and nonprofit cultural project promoted by Kou - Association for the Promotion of Visual Arts, in which all the organizational staff provides its skills in a totally free and voluntary form, firmly believing in the possibility of generating a real network between all the Roman cultural operators working in the contemporary.
The initiative has the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, Lazio Region, Roma Capitale Assessorato alla Cultura, Sapienza University of Rome, International Union of Institutes of Archaeology History and Art History in Rome, CIU Italian Confederation Union of Intellectual Professions; with the support and collaboration of Roma Capitale Assessorato ai Grandi Eventi Sport Turismo e Moda.
