It will be for a special edition because of the health emergency, the one that LuBeC - Lucca Beni Culturali is about to open this year: for the 16th edition of the event that gathers in the Tuscan city the most innovative peaks of the sector in Italy, there will in fact not be the traditional fair with exhibitors, but it will only be a conference with closed numbers and compliance with all health measures. The appointment is, as every year, at the Real Collegio di Lucca on Thursday, October 8 and Friday, October 9. Organized by Promo PA Fondazione in collaboration with MiBACT, the Region of Tuscany, local authorities and numerous national and international partners, and directed by Francesca Velani, LuBeC this year alternates workshops with technical laboratories, seminars, interviews, presentations and debates, with which the event will contribute, as it does every year, to the international debate on cultural heritage, presenting and promoting solutions, strategies and tools to support the cultural and creative system, in relation to the sectors of tourism, productivity, innovation, health, and sustainability.
As always, the transversal element of LuBeC will be the public-private relationship in its different configurations, from management models to cultural welfare, from the contamination between culture and business to the strengthening of networks that promote the systemization of services and products for a more sustainable society. The 16th edition of LuBeC will address the following themes: the public-private relationship; Agenda 2030 and culture; Enhancing cultural heritage for the revitalization of tourism; culture and health; museums and innovation; the Reform of the Entertainment Code; volunteering and the enhancement of cultural heritage; and the enhancement of Mediterranean culture. There will be a total of 25 events at LuBeC 2020.
Again, at LuBeC 2020 there will also be the CreaTech Open Lab 2020 event, a two-day interactive training event organized by Promo PA Fondazione in partnership with Fondazione MAXXI as part of Città Cultura: CreaTech Open Lab is moreover reaching its seventh edition this year and will also take place on October 8 and 9, 2020 in Lucca, as part of LuBeC. Focus of CreaTech Open Lab 2020 will be on the theme of cultural inclusion and accessibility between city and territory, using the techniques of engaging audiences proper to gamification, and this in light of the upheavals that the Covid-19 pandemic has also brought in the way of culture: as a result, the reopening of cultural venues will have to bring with renewed vigor the inescapable theme of cultural accessibility and inclusion, requiring the spread of actions to foster public participation, inclusion and welcome, of activities that make citizens active agents in the fruition, co-creation and preservation of heritage and cultural identity. CreaTech Open Lab 2020 therefore intends to make an operational contribution to the development of this process, aiming to increase and strengthen in the participants, coming from different territorial realities and disciplines, transversal design skills between digital and culture.
All LuBeC 2020 events will be held both in-person and online to enable the widest possible participation of all interested parties. The full program can be consulted on the LuBeC website, while to participate in the events it is necessary to register by going to the appropriate link.
