Stunning photographs of Florence illuminated on the night of St. John's Day

Images of the light show that the Silfi company created for St. John's Night in Florence.

It is a tradition in Florence on the night of June 24, the night of St. John (the city’s patron saint), to hold a fireworks display, the fireworks that every year are an unmissable event for Florentines. This year, due to restrictions imposed to contain the Covid-19 outbreak, the fireworks were not there (so, someone is already commenting, in 2021 Florentines will be able to say “they were better than those of two years ago”: in fact, it is just as typical, every year, to complain about the current edition’s fireworks in order to extol those of the year before).

In Florence, however, there was no shortage of “luminous” moments, and instead of pyrotechnics, the inhabitants of the Tuscan capital were able to enjoy a light show created by the company Silfi spa, visible even from a distance, and which “invested” the main monuments of the city, from the Dome of Santa Maria del Fiore to the San Niccolò Tower, from the Loggia of the Istituto degli Innocenti to the basilica of San Miniato al Monte. Below are the beautiful photos of the show.
