On Wednesday, June 20, Friday, June 22 and Saturday, June 23, 2018, on the occasion of Art Night Venezia, Palazzo Grassi will become a skateboard park: a large skate ramp will be placed at the entrance of the Venetian museum to host exhibitions, workshops and performances.
The"Skate the Museum" initiative is part of Albert Oehlen ’s"Cows by the Water" exhibition and is inspired by skateboards made by The Skateroom in collaboration with Oehlen, starting with the works on display at Palazzo Grassi.
Wednesday, June 20, is scheduled for a viewing of Lord of Dogtown, a film directed by Catherine Hardwicke in 2005, whose plot tells how a group of friends in the 1970s revolutionized the world of skateboarding by using surf figures.
Skateboarding workshops taught by Go Fast are scheduled for Friday, June 22, from 3 to 7 p.m. Participation is free, with reservations, and is for children over 8 years old. A DJ set is scheduled from 7 to 10 p.m. .
On Saturday, June 23 from 6:30 p.m. to midnight there will be performances by professional riders to which museum visitors are invited.
