An archaeohistorical festival all dedicated to the Etruscans: it’s Festa etrusca!, the first event of its kind all dedicated to the ancient population that flourished in Italy before the Romans. It will be held on September 25 and 26, 2021 at the National Etruscan Museum in Villa Giulia, Rome, and will be an opportunity to learn about the customs, technology and art of the Etruscans in a weekend of culture with educational moments, books, lectures, music, workshops and guided tours.
In its first edition, Etruscan Feast! is a cultural event dedicated to archaeology and history, especially the tools for their popularization: from books to historical reenactment. The festival aims to be an opportunity for meeting, entertainment and cultural exchange between the multiple operators in the field (Museums, Universities, Research Centers, Publishing Houses, Archaeological Companies and Cooperatives, Agencies specialized in Cultural Tourism, Cultural Associations) and the public of visitors.
Thus, on Saturday, September 25 and Sunday, September 26, at the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia the public can find the exhibition area with books from the sector and realities active in archaeological popularization and promotion of cultural heritage, the round table with scholars and experts (inspired by the theme of European Heritage Days 2021 “Heritage - All inclusive,” the meeting will be dedicated to the concept of “world heritage” conveyed by UNESCO and the involvement of “heritage communities”, as defined by the “Faro Convention,” in the conservation and promotion of heritage), in-depth activities such as meetings with the protagonists of archaeology, presentations of new publishing in the presence of the authors organized by the guest publishers of the event, workshops for children and young people, and finally the enhancement activities, namely historical re-enactments and educational workshops on the Etruscan world by the Suodales Cultural Association, guided tours in collaboration with the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia.
