The Superintendence of Rome is opening the doors of its spaces at Testaccio (i.e., the archaeological areas of the Porticus Aemilia, Emporium and Testaccio Market) for the first edition of Assaggi di Storia, an event opening Oct. 6. The event focuses attention on the link between the food and wine heritage and the cultural and environmental landscape of the district, formerly used as a large market that supplied the capital of theRoman Empire.
During the event there will be multiple guided tours, laboratories, workshops and lectures that will enrich the program that will unfold between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m., offering a day filled with engaging activities for all ages. Taking care of the guided tours at archaeological sites such as the Porticus Aemilia and the archaeological excavations is theCCPAS Association, while the cultural association M’Arte will be in charge of the playful workshops for the youngest.
