OnSaturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2, the Rolli Days are back! An extraordinary opportunity to visit the Palazzi dei Rolli, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2006, and admire the wonders they contain.
The name Palazzi dei Rolli refers to the most sumptuous buildings in the city of Genoa belonging to the aristocracy that were meant to accommodate, when the need arose, the illustrious guests of the Republic; the first rollo, or list of these buildings, dates back to 1576.
For the first time since 2009, when the Rolli Days event began, it will be possible to visit 37 palaces.
New additions to the April 2017 edition include Palazzo Franco Lercari where there is a splendid fresco by Luca Cambiaso, Palazzo De Franchi with frescoes by Bernardo Castello and Domenico Fiasella, Palazzo Brancaleone Grillo with the opening to the public of the apartments frescoed by Luca Cambiaso, and the opening of the Banca Carige Artistic Heritage Collection.
Visitors will be welcomed again in this edition by students and graduates in Cultural Heritage, Foreign Languages and Literature and Architecture with the coordination of PhDs from the University of Genoa, who will present the history and works of art of each palace.
The next edition of Rolli days is scheduled for October 2017.
