On Sept. 11 and 12 in Pergola, in the province of Pesaro Urbino, will be held the fourth edition of Blooming, the festival dedicated to the promotion of artistic expressions of research in the field of digital culture, music and electronic arts.
The event will host international artists and creative studios with installations, video projections and performances in eight locations in Pergola’s historic center. The city will be the scene of sensory experiments, immersive environments and performances that will help enhance the historical and architectural heritage.
Although the program has been reduced and revised due to the health emergency, this year’s festival again welcomes international artists, immersive and sound installations, live performances and large-scale video projections focusing on the relationship between light, space and perception. In particular, a brand-new video installation created by Maotik will be on view in the Church of Hues; Nonotak Studio will instead present a new version of the installation Zero Point Two, while Yasuhiro Chida will present a brand-new, site-specific re-adaptation of the installation Analemma.
And again, the Roman studio Ultravioletto will offer a brand new, world premiere performance; Umanesimo Artificiale will be present with an audiovisual installation by Filippo Rosati, Massimiliano Camilucci, Mattia Barbotti and Gianluca Sindaco, and a live performance by Aspect Ratio featuring live soundtracking of the installation.
For the past four years, the #bloomingyou call for projects has provided a location for a project to be exhibited during the festival, and this year the jury, chaired by Federica Patti, chose an installation by sound artist Pier Alfeo and an audio/video project by the Electro Organic Orchestra collective.
The festival will open on Friday, September 11 at 6:30 p.m. with an Artists talk, a public meeting to present and discuss this edition’s artists moderated by Federica Patti and Filippo Rosati (Umanesimo Artificiale). Scheduled for the afternoon of Saturday, Sept. 12, is a workshop for children organized by CoderDojo Fano and the usual appointment with the virtual reality workshop curated by Alberto Formica.
Among the side activities, an immersive sound environment reproducing the frequencies of the buzzing of the queen bee will be set up in the apiary of the local company Il Miele di Duccio.
Blooming Festival is a project of Palazzo Bruschi and the artistic direction of the festival is by Quiet Ensemble.
Tickets available at liveticket.co.uk/blooming and at the Guidarelli Bookstore in Pergola.
