From Bugo to Dente, from Ghemon to Gio Evan: the summer at the Luigi Pecci Center for Contemporary Art in Prato is all about music, but not only. In fact, it kicks off from tomorrow, June 29, until September 6, 2020, Pecci Summer, the new summer schedule of concerts, talks and outdoor cinema that will enliven the outdoor spaces of the Pecci every night. The centerpiece of the program will be the Pecci Center Arena, the open-air theater that offers citizens a space to experience culture together. Pecci Summer aims to be an ideal meeting place for art and culture enthusiasts, with a varied and continuous offer throughout the summer.
With the screening of Woody Allen’s A Rainy Day in New York on Monday, June 29, Pecci Summer Cinema’s outdoor cinema returns. The programming will see films screened in their dubbed Italian versions and divided into three strands: the Best of, those that in the season have best combined quality and success with audiences; the Novità released on on-demand platforms during the lockdown period and recently in theaters; and finally the Anteprime, films in original subtitled versions, not yet released in theaters. There will be no shortage of meetings with leading filmmakers.
Pecci Summer Live will be held from July 9 to 25: ten concerts organized thanks to the unprecedented collaboration between the Pecci Center, the City of Prato and festivals and cultural realities active in the area, which will bring to the Arena stage some of the protagonists of the Italian music scene. It begins on July 9 with Lorenzo Senni, then on the 10th it will be the turn of Edda + Francesco Di Bella, followed by JoyCut on the 15th, Onori + Saturnino on the 16th, Dente on the 18th, Clever Gold on the 21st, Bugo on the 22nd, Gio Evan on the 23rd, Guano Padano on the 24th, and Ghemon on the 25th. All concerts are held at 9:30 pm.
In parallel, Pecci Summer Talk will offer a full schedule of meetings, book presentations, and lectures.
The outdoor space of the Pecci Center that will host the Pecci Summer schedule will have the appearance of a temporary garden and an informal setting designed for talks, DJ sets, and refreshment service.
