The Fondation Ordine Mauriziano renews its extraordinary guided tours of the Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi for 2025, offering the opportunity to explore spaces usually inaccessible to the public. From March 1 to June 28, visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the history of the residence, discovering its different living phases and the refined architectural design that guided its construction.
The Passepartout itinerary will allow visitors to traverse the hidden rooms of the servants’ quarters, leading to the top of the Juvarrian dome. Here, along the concave and convex balconies overlooking the majestic central hall, it will be possible to admire up close the complex wooden structure of the inverted boat roof designed by Filippo Juvarra and to enjoy, after walking up the 50 steps of a narrow spiral staircase, a 360-degree panoramic view, right below the deer symbol of the Palazzina.
The tours will offer two distinct routes. One will take “Behind the Secret Doors,” into the passages and corridors used by servants to move discreetly among the residence’s rooms, all the way to the panel of automatic doorbells, a rare example of the sophisticated calling system of the time (scheduled for Saturdays, March 1, 15 and 29, April 12, May 17 and 31, and June 14 and 28, at 10:30 a.m., 12, 2:30 and 4 p.m.). The other, called “Under the Stag,” will run vertically: From the grandiose double-height oval central hall, 50 steps will be taken to reach the characteristic concave-convex balcony and then finally arrive, via a narrow spiral staircase of another 50 steps, at the top of the Juvarra dome, from which it is possible to appreciate the perfect architectural balance of the structure and its scenic layout, which extends along a visual axis to Turin (scheduled for Saturdays, March 8 and 22, April 5, May 10 and 24, June 7 and 21, at 10 a.m.30, 12, 14.30 e 16).
Reservations are required to participate in guided tours: stupinigi@info.ordinemauriziano.it
Information at: 011 6200601, Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Due to the special nature of the places being visited, which are not normally accessible to the public, visitors will be provided with protective helmets, so only adults and children over 12 years of age may enter, and groups may not exceed 10 people. To participate, you must be in good health and in a physical condition to walk up a few flights of stairs. Comfortable clothing and closed footwear, such as sneakers or light hiking shoes, must be worn. It is forbidden to enter with bulky bags and/or backpacks, as the route is quite challenging. It is necessary not to suffer from heart disease. Due to the limited spaces, not accessible to people with disabilities, and the narrow spiral staircase, the two routes are not recommended for those suffering from claustrophobia or vertigo and, in general, for those who are not in good health.
“Passepartout” guided tours are scheduled only on marked days. Duration: about one hour.
Ticket cost to access “Behind the Secret Doors” is 22 euros (12 euros entrance fee + 10 euros guided tour), reduced 18 euros.
The cost of the ticket to access “Under the Deer” is 25 euros (15 euros entrance ticket + 10 euros guided tour), reduced 22 euros.
For Museum Subscription Card holders: 10 euros (free admission to the Palazzina).
