On the occasion of Landscape Day, Thursday, March 14, 2019, Paestum Archaeological Park is offering the Paestum in the Night - The Ancient Landscape of the Temples initiative with free guided tours of the Southern Sanctuary. Visitors will be able to visit the southern sanctuary in the dark, using only small lanterns. The Paestum Archaeological Park’s user, reception and security assistants will guide visitors through a barrier-free route, giving them access to the interior of the world’s best-preserved temples. During the visit, the focus will be on the ancient landscape, where the city of Poseidonia-Paestum and its Doric temples were inserted. The occasion is also favorable for addressing important topical issues such as environmental sustainability andlight pollution.
In addition, thanks to the barrier-free route, it will be possible to access the interior of the Basilica, Paestum’s oldest temple.
With this initiative, the Paestum Archaeological Park kicks off free admission Thursdays, with free access to the museum and archaeological area, every Thursday afternoon, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. (last admission at 6:50 p.m.).
