The 94th Academy Awards, or the Academy Awards, held overnight at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, presented by Regina Hall, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes. Winning the award for best picture is Sian Heder’s The Signs of the Heart (CODA), a film that tells the story of a teenage girl from a deaf family and partly performed in sign language. Best Original Song is No Time To Die by Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell for the film of the same name.
Best Documentary is Summer of Soul (...Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised), by Questlove, Joseph Patel, Robert Fyvolent and David Dinerstein; Best Documentary Short is The Queen of Basketball by Ben Proudfoot; Best Short Film goes to The Long Goodbye by Aneil Karia and Riz Ahmed; and Best Animated Short is The Windshield Wiper by Alberto Mielgo and Leo Sanchez. This year’s honorary Oscars go to Samuel L. Jackson, Elaine May and Liv Ullmann, while the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award was given to Danny Glover.
