Sunday, May 21, 2023 marks the return of the National Day of the Italian Historic Houses Association, now in its 13th edition.
More than 400 exclusive places such as castles, fortresses, villas, parks and gardens will be open to visitors free of charge, thus reopening its doors to Italy’s largest widespread museum.
Also this year, the Associazione Dimore Storiche Italiane and Photolux Festival are promoting, in collaboration with Instagramers Italia ETS, the challenge aimed at all Instagram users. The goal is to bear witness, through photography, to the history, everyday life, uniqueness and beauty of the historic Italian mansions opened on the occasion of the 13th edition of the ADSI National Day.
To participate, simply post a piece of content (photo, carousel, reel or story as long as it is featured) on your Instagram profile with the hashtag #challengeadsi2023 and/or mentioning @dimore_storiche_italiane, @photoluxfest and @weareigersit.
The twenty-five most representative digital contents of the courtyards, gardens, and exteriors of the mansions will be the subject of a virtual exhibition accessible on the ADSI and Photolux Festival websites and will be shared on the instagram accounts of the three promoting entities. One author or author selected by the jury will be invited to participate in a special dedicated visit to a historic home in their city of residence.
In addition, on the occasion of Bergamo Brescia 2023, volunteers from ADSI Lombardy and ADSI Young Lombardy are proposing the event “Cortili Aperti Bergamo Brescia 2023 - Giornata Nazionale ADSI” in the two capitals.
Due to the bad weather in Emilia Romagna and in respect for the victims of such adverse events, the Associazione Dimore Storiche Italiane has decided to cancel the planned openings in the region.
The list and map of the historic residences that will participate in the initiative are available on the ADSI Italy website https://www.associazionedimorestoricheitaliane.it/event/347698/xiii-giornata-nazionale-a-d-s-i-domenica-21-maggio-2023/?lan=it
