On Rai5 airing tomorrow night the first documentary on Emilio Vedova

Tomorrow, May 29, Rai5 will broadcast in prime time the docufilm dedicated to Emilio Vedova.

Entitled Emilio Vedova. A Core of Active Energy the documentary dedicated to Emilio Vedova (Venice, 1919 - 2006), which will be broadcast on Rai5 tomorrow night, March 29, at 9:15 pm. The docufilm, focused on the major exhibition dedicated to the informal painter held at the Palazzo Reale between December 2019 and February 2020. For those who might miss it, it will also be available after airing on the RaiPlay portal, where it will be viewable on demand.

The documentary will talk about both the great Venetian artist, through period documents and footage documenting interesting and intense moments of his activity (as well as with his works, of course), and the genesis of the exhibition, curated by the late Germano Celant: it will therefore also be a tribute to the art critic, theorist of Arte Povera, who left us in recent weeks. Celant appears among the voices in the docufilm commenting on Vedova’s art: along with him are Alfredo Bianchini, president of Fondazione Vedova, and Domenico Piraina, director of Palazzo Reale. The exhibition at Palazzo Reale showed works by Vedova from the 1940s to the 1990s, displayed in the installation curated by the Alvisi Kirimoto studio in Rome: in the docufilm, therefore, they can be seen again.

Several, finally, unpublished materials that have been collected for the documentary and that therefore the public will have the opportunity to see, enriching with never-before-seen content the knowledge of one of the most important artists of 20th-century Italy.
