Night walks at Vesuvian archaeological sites return


Night walks at Vesuvian archaeological sites-Pompeii, Oplontis, Villa S.Marco in Stabia, Boscoreale Antiquarium-are back again this year.

Night walks of Vesuvian archaeological sites are back: from Aug. 23 to Sept. 28, 2019 at the Pompeii excavations and the Villa of Poppea in Oplontis, from Aug. 16 to Sept. 21 at the Villa S.Marco in Stabia thanks to the Noctes Stabianae initiative, and from Sept. 6 to Oct. 12 at theAntiquarium in Boscoreale.

Night walks are scheduled every Friday and Saturday from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. (last entry at 10 p.m.).



The visit to Oplontis includes two scheduled thematic itineraries: on August 23 Myths in the Oplontine Paintings with illustration, through readings of excerpts from classical authors, of the myths evoked in the wall decorations of the Villa of Poppea, and on August 31 Medicine in the Ancient World with readings of excerpts and historical accounts dedicated to the theme. Visitors will be accompanied by members of theArcheoclub d’Italia - Torre Annunziata branch.
