Night tours of the Colosseum

Starting March 11,"The Moon over the Colosseum," the initiative that will allow visitors to visit the Colosseum’s underground passages, galleries and inner arches at night, from 8 p.m. to midnight, is underway.

The 75-minute tour is available in Italian, English and Spanish; people will learn about the history, architecture and places where duels between gladiators and ferocious animals took place and were prepared.
Also featured is the exhibition"Colosseum. An Icon" to trace the history of the Roman monument over the centuries.

It will be possible to visit the Colosseum at night until December 31, 2017: in March only on Saturdays, from April to May on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays; from June to September all week, in October every day except Tuesdays and Sundays, in November only on Fridays and Saturdays, and in December only on Saturdays.
