From June 22 to Sept. 18, 2019, the first edition of Panzano Arte will be held, the intent of which is to present projects by contemporary artists in public spaces as evidence of a modern Humanism that explores issues related to culture, spirituality, freedom of thought, human rights and the environment. A link between contemporary art and scenic Tuscan locations that has had notable precedents in Chianti.
This first edition chose to exhibit the works of French artist Nathalie Decoster: large sculptures that will guide visitors on an artistic journey set in Florentine Chianti, between Panzano and four important wineries in the area.
The main theme of her sculptures is a stylized man in the act of walking, a messenger as the artist defines him, often enclosed in a geometric shape. Works that reflect on the human condition, its fragility, and the passage of time. Twenty-nine bronze, stainless steel and steel sculptures in different formats will be placed in the exhibition itinerary.
“The choice of Nathalie seemed natural to us. An artist with a free and independent spirit, she sums up in her modern humanism all the prerequisites of this initiative,” said the curator of the exhibition, Mila Sturm.
