Milan, presented the 24th edition of miart, between confirmations and novelties

Presented in Milan the 24th edition of miart, between confirmations and important novelties.

The 24th edition of miart, an international modern and contemporary art fair, will kick off April 5-7 in Hall 3 of fieramilanocity in Milan. The event, which will be under the artistic direction of Alessandro Rabottini, was presented yesterday at Palazzo Marino. There will be 186 galleries from 19 countries around the world exhibiting works by modern masters, established and emerging contemporary artists, and established and experimental designers. Through its seven sections, miart confirms the formula that has made it over the years the fair in Italy with the broadest chronological offering, thus evoking the combination of history and experimentation that resides in Milan’s DNA. The internationality that in recent years has made the Lombard capital an inclusive capital finds expression in the dialogue between history and the present that characterizes the miart project. With the 2019 edition, miart intends to consolidate its path of growth by combining the solidity of market aspects with an aptitude for research, and expanding its format into a platform for observing society and its changes.

Among the galleries, there are international names that for the first time have chosen Milan as their stage in Italy: among them, Cabinet (London), Corvi-Mora (London), Marian Goodman Gallery (New York - Paris - London), Hauser & Wirth (Hong Kong - London - Los Angeles - New York - Somerset - St. Moritz - Gstdaad - Zurich), Herald St (London), GalerieThaddaeus Ropac (Paris - London - Salzburg) and Tucci Russo (Torre Pellice), among others. The centrality of the reflection on the art of the last century will again this year be a mainstay of miart’s architecture, confirmed by a wide selection of galleries such as Cardi (Milan - London), Casoli De Luca (Rome), Cortesi (Lugano - London - Milan), Galleria d’Arte Maggiore G.A.M. (Bologna - Paris - Milan), Galleria dello Scudo (Verona), Mazzoleni (London - Turin), Montrasio Arte (Monza - Milan), Repetto Gallery (London), Robilant + Voena (London - Milan - St. Moritz), Richard Saltoun (London), Gian Enzo Sperone (Sent - New York), Studio Marconi (Milan), Tega (Milan) and Tornabuoni Arte (Florence - Milan - Paris - London).

In addition, this year eighteen international museum directors and curators of prestigious institutions from 10 countries will be part of the juries in charge of the Fondazione Fiera Milano Acquisition Fund and the five prizes that miart awards to galleries and artists, and that for years now have confirmed the collaboration between the fair and its partners: Fondo di Acquisizione Fondazione Fiera Milano, Herno Prize, Fidenza Village Prize for Generations, On Demand by Snaporazverein Prize, LCA Prize for Emergent, and Rotary Club Milano Brera Prize for Contemporary Art and Young Artists.

Still, a new cycle of miartalks marks the renewed collaboration between miart and In Between Art Film: three days of conversations open to the public will involve forty artists, curators, collectors, designers, museum directors and international thinkers, gathered around the theme “The Common Good.”
