Last year, due to the health emergency from Covid-19, it was not possible to organize the event, but this year Open Courtyards returns to Milan: in fact, on Sunday, May 23, the XXVII edition of the event promoted by the ADSI Lombardy Youth Group will be held in the Lombard capital, under the patronage of Milan City Hall 1.
From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the courtyards of the most beautiful private historic houses in the heart of Milan, between Brera, Montenapoleone and via Carducci, will be open for visits to bring the public closer to Private Historic Houses that are not normally accessible. Volunteers under 35 from ADSI Lombardy will accompany visitors: they will walk through the hamlets that were transformed into one of the most elegant areas of the city starting in the 18th century.
It will be possible to visit the courtyards of Palazzo Brera (home of the Pinacoteca di Brera), Casa Branca già Taverna (via Borgonuovo,2), Palazzo Moriggia (home of the Museo del Risorgimento, via Borgonuovo, 23), Casa Gussi (via Monte di Pietà, 24), Casa del Bono (via Borgospesso, 21), Cortile via Carducci (via Carducci, 38).
Due to safety regulations this year, access to the courtyards will be allowed with compulsory reservations, with a maximum of twenty people per shift. There will also be a QR code in each courtyard from which one can download the booklet with historical information about the mansions that can be visited.
An infopoint is active throughout the day on Sunday, May 23, 2021 in the courtyard of honor of Palazzo Brera. For more information call 02 76318634.
