An international dance gala in support of Ukraine will be held at the Arcimboldi Theater on April 7. On stage will be Russian and Ukrainian prima ballerinas, as well as Jacopo Tissi, étoile of the Moscow Bolshoi who left the Russian theater after the invasion of Ukraine.

On April 7, 2022, at 9 p.m., the Arcimboldi Theater in Milan will host Pace for Peace, an international dance gala in which Europe’s greatest étoiles will dance together for a solidarity event in support of Ukrainian artists and war-affected refugees.

Among the dance stars who will participate in the gala is Jacopo Tissi, the young dancer from Pavia who became first dancer at the Moscow Bolshoi last January and left the famous Russian theater after the outbreak of war in Ukraine. Also with him are Silvia Azzoni, Sergio Bernal, Alina Cojocaru, Leonardo Cremaschi, Petar Dorcevski, Anastasia Gurskaj, Johan Kobborg, Liudmila Konovalova, Eugenia Korshunova, Stanislav Olshansky, Alexey Popov, Simone Repele, Simon Ripert, Sasha Riva, Oleksandr Ryabko, Jacopo Tissi, Aleksei Tiutiunnik, and Maria Yakovleva, who welcomed the initiative passionately and free of charge.

The entire proceeds of the evening will be donated to the #MilanoAiutaUcraina Fund, promoted by the City of Milan with Fondazione di Comunità Milano and the Italian Red Cross. It will thus go to support projects for first aid, reception and social inclusion of Ukrainian refugees who have arrived in the city, but also to send medicines to war zones.

“Dance is a message of universal unity,” Tissi reiterated during the press conference to present the evening. Indeed, Russian and Ukrainian prima ballerinas will be together on the stage of the Arcimboldi Theater. “We wanted to try to help people right away, but also do something symbolic,” said Teatro Arcimboldi artistic director Gianmarco Longoni. “Art is a form of communication between people that must always remain open.”
