Great Art at the Movies presents June 19, 20 and 21"Michelangelo. Love and Death."
The new docu-film directed by David Bickerstaff and produced by Phil Grabsky will illustrate the works, museums and places of the great Michelangelo’s life.
Following Vasari’s biography, the docu-film with high-definition images will show the life and artistic career of the great genius, the cities where he created his works, as well as the museums in which his masterpieces are preserved.
The viewer will be guided to learn about the Rothschild bronzes, bronze male nudes riding two panthers, and also on an excursion to the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, where the plaster copy of David is kept.
Art critics such as Martin Gayford, Jonathan Jones, Jennifer Sliwkaand Cristina Acidini, the delegate for the science departments and restoration laboratories of the Vatican Museums Arnold Nesselrath and artist Tania Kovats will have the task of witnessing and narrating Michelangelo’s art.
“Michelangelo. Love and Death” is this year’s final installment of La Grande Arte al Cinema; it is exclusively distributed in Italy by Nexo Digital in collaboration with Sky Arte HD and MYmovies.it.
