Now on sale exclusively, on SuperRare, 'Mother of creation,' Madonna and Beeple's new NFT collection: three works explore the concept of birth. Proceeds will be donated to charity.

Three digital videos in which the avatar of the American pop star generates trees, caterpillars and butterflies and technology. It is Mother of Creation, the new collection of 3 NFTs signed by Madonna and Beeple, born Michael Joseph Winkelmann, an American digital artist, graphic designer and animator who became world famous because his best-known work, Everydays - The First 5000 Days, sold last year for $69 million at auction at Christie’s.The collection is the result of a year of work between the two with the goal of telling through the new digital art tool of Non-Fungible Tokens, the idea of creation and motherhood.

The three works explore the concept of birth through darkness and light in our modern world: Mother of Nature, which features a tree full of life destined to recreate itself and flourish; Mother of Evolution which instead touches on the metamorphosis journey of butterflies; and Mother of Technology inspired by science that with the right awareness can give light in the physical and real world but with consequences, so nature will always win. The three videos feature a nude frontal image of an avatar of Madonna giving birth to different organisms from a hospital bed, a rusty vehicle and in the middle of a forest.

All were created with a 3-D scan of Madonna’s body, then reworked by the singer and Beeple. The pop star then paired each video with pieces of poetry, some composed by her and others by the mystic Rumi. The work is for sale as of today on the online platform-marketplace SuperRare at a starting price of 0.00035774 ETH (corresponding to one dollar), while proceeds from the sales will be donated to three nonprofit organizations: The Voices of Children Foundation, which serves women and children affected in the war in Ukraine; The City of Joy Foundation, a V-Day project for women survivors of severe violence, based in Bukavu, eastern Democratic Republic of Congo; and Black Mama’s Bail Out. in support of unjustly incarcerated black mothers.

“When Mike and I decided to collaborate on this project a year ago,” said Madonna, “I was thrilled to have the opportunity to share my worldview as a mother and artist with Mike’s unique perspective. It was an incredible journey to build it together from an intellectual idea to an emotional story, bringing art to life. I wanted to investigate the concept of creation, not only the way a baby enters the world through a woman’s vagina, but also the way an artist brings creativity to life. Most importantly, we wanted to use this opportunity to benefit mothers and children who are most in need right now.”

“I was thrilled,” said Beeple, “to connect artistically with Madonna to create this series of artwork. Our collaboration was really natural and we shared a creative vision that was so rewarding to realize and now share with the world.”
