From May 21-25, 2025, the newly restored Grand Palais in Paris will host the seventh edition of Révélations - Biennale Internationale Métiers d’Art et Créations, one of the world’s most prestigious events forartistic craftsmanship. This year Italy will be the Guest of Honor Country, a recognition that underscores the central role of Made in Italy in the panorama of international creativity. The Italian participation is promoted by ICE - Agency for the promotion abroad and internationalization of Italian companies, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Culture. Révélations is thus an immersion in the world of contemporary creation, with more than 3,000 new works unveiled to the public through a set design entrusted once again to Adrien Gardère, museographer at the Louvre-Lens and set designer of international exhibitions from Hong Kong to Tokyo, via Dubai and Tahiti. The event, conceived by the Ateliers d’Art de France in 2013, has become a point of reference for artists, artisans and industry professionals.

Coordination of the Italian participation is overseen by Elisa Guidi, coordinator of Artex, Tuscany’s center for Artistic and Traditional Crafts, who has taken on the role of curator of the Italian section of the event. The 2023 edition featured 352 exhibitors from 29 countries and more than 36,000 international visitors, with 44 percent made up of industry professionals such as gallery owners, collectors, architects and art directors. The biennial is distinguished by its ability to combine tradition and innovation, creating a dialogue between different cultures and craft techniques.

Italy will be a protagonist with an articulated presence: 15 artisans will exhibit in individual stands, while another 7 will participate in the collective exhibition, for a total of 22 realities representing national excellence under the aegis ofITA - Italian Trade Agency. The Banquet section will also see the participation of three young companies, for a total of four creators, who will offer an overview of the liveliness of the sector, with works that tell the story of the union between ancient knowledge and contemporary experimentation.

The Italian arts and crafts sector represents a fundamental pillar of the national economy. With production reaching 113 billion euros in 2022 and exports amounting to 35 billion, the sector boasts about 1.1 million artisan enterprises operating in sectors ranging from stone and ceramic work to weaving, jewelry and leather goods. Révélations will be an opportunity to enhance this wealth and consolidate the image of Made in Italy in the world.

Italian exhibitors include prominent names in high craftsmanship. For jewelry and goldsmithing there will be Antonino De Simone, Daniela Vettori, Devis Palazzi, La Luce and Res Musiva, workshops known for their skill in working with precious materials. The art of ceramics will be represented by Dazzan Daria, Karin Putsch-Grassi and Studio Ceramico Giusti, while the stone sector will feature Bundles, Atelier Terre, Gatti Riccardo and Serafini. For weaving and textile design, Di Pasquale Guthmann, Eugenia Pinna and Atelier Taftique will exhibit. Glass will be represented by Memmo Venezia and Vera Belikova, while leather goods will feature Tonucci Collection. Designers and decorators include Marta Benet, OfficineLamour, Giuliano Tincani and ROU Materiaal.

“This is a unique opportunity to present in a prestigious and international setting Italian art crafts, essential pillars of our country’s economy, image, identity and heritage,” stresses Luigi Ferrelli, Director of ICE’s Paris Office.

"Italian participation in Révélations 2025, with its 22 exhibitors," says Elisa Guidi, Artex coordinator and curator of the Italian section. “The Italian participation in Révélations 2025, with its 22 exhibitors, presents a significant, though obviously not exhaustive, cross-section of Italian artistic craftsmanship, both in terms of geographic distribution over the national territory, materials and processing techniques, and the characteristics of the exhibitors, who are both individual creators, often young, and artistic manufactures: the Italian area thus faithfully reflects the variety and complexity of the Italian art sector, which is very close to the characteristics of the French system. Italy and France have a structure of the art professions that is perhaps unique in Europe, which unites them, in challenges and opportunities, and which makes a continuous and fruitful exchange between our two countries essential and unavoidable.”

"Révélations is returning to its summer spaces, generating great enthusiasm to relive the wonder in this majestic and luminous place, a symbol of French creativity and genius!" argues Stéphane Galerneau, president of Ateliers d’Art de France and chairman of Révélations. “The thrill of belonging to a collective symphony is already being felt. It is gratifying to see the enthusiasm and expectations of exhibitors, institutions and partners, as well as their kind support. This is a step forward for Révélations, both in terms of space and from the point of view of the resulting enriched programming.”
