In Trentino, the first green concert in a forest accessed by adopting trees

In Trentino, at Arte Sella, the first concert immersed in climate-positive nature will be held on May 29 that can be accessed with a TreeTicket.

On May 29, 2021, the first climate-positive concert to be paid for in trees will be held in Trentino, at Malga Costa in Val di Sella. A concert in presence, immersed in a forest, to bring people closer to nature through music. The protagonists will be internationally renowned cellist Mario Brunello and botanist Stefano Mancuso, an expert in arboriculture and plant ethology. The two will be the protagonists of a “musical-vegetal” investigation, created in the past as part of the circular economy festival Recò, which takes shape from the last movement of Bach’s Second Partita in D minor for solo violin. The work relies on an architecture based on variation that slowly builds on itself, just like a plant and possesses a life and breath similar to that of a tree.

The event will be held on a double date for up to forty people each, at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

It will be the first climate positive event: access will be paid for with a TreeTicket; trees adopted by the public as a ticket will be planted in the surrounding area, affected in 2018 by Cyclone Vaia, to capture more CO2 than that emitted by the event itself and to leave the environment with a new forest that can restore biodiversity to the land over time, capture more carbon dioxide, and better filter rainwater into the aquifer.

Once tickets are purchased, spectators will be able to download a tree adoption certificate from the crowdfunding reforestation platform wownature.eu, which must be presented at the event in order to gain access. Ticket (and tree) holders will be invited in the months following the planting event.

The initiative is promoted by Trentino-based Acqua Levico, “The climate positive water,” which is committed to planting and caring for the adopted trees, while the first TreeTicket experiment is organized by Etifor, a spin-off of the University of Padua that deals on a global scale with forestry heritage enhancement for public and private entities, in collaboration with Arte Sella.

The climate-positive event is made possible by MARC (Measure Avoid Risk Communicate), a method coined by Etifor’s team of researchers that makes it possible to scientifically measure impacts, avoiding unnecessary ones, and to quantify the amount of trees needed not only to equalize emissions, but more importantly to go on “oxygen credit” with respect to the environment.

Reservations are required to attend the event (call 0461.751251 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon or write to artesella@yahoo.it. Admission costs 32 euros per person. The Malga Costa area is located at an altitude of 1,000 meters, so appropriate clothing is recommended.
