In Lerici a cultural project entirely dedicated to the five senses, including art, music, poetry

From Aug. 3 to Oct. 3, 2020 in Lerici, the "Senses of the Sea" project comes to life, an art project all about the five senses, based on art, music, poetry, and scents.

In Lerici, on the shores of the Golfo dei Poeti, the project The Senses of the Sea comes to life from August 3 to October 3, 2020. It is an artistic project all about the five senses: a kind of invitation to invest in our being through art and culture. Artists, musicians, and scholars will participate in the project, which addresses hearing, seeing, smelling, and touching, and is an invitation to be all participants, “all actors ready to generate and develop attitudes in the dimension of astonishment,” as the presentation of the project states.

From this point of view, the public will be able to admire the Castles of Lerici and San Terenzo illuminated by the intervention of artist Marco Nereo Rotelli and discover the scents of and in nature by maître parfumeur Maria Candida Gentile, listen to and “see” a new web radio dedicated to Lerici conceived by musician and DJ Alessio Bertallot, and return to the magic of handwriting with the presence of China’s greatest poet, Yang Lian, assisted by scholar Guido Andrea Pautasso. There is also space for the everyday: the audience in particular will be able to listen to the problems and resources of the sea told by Giuseppe Costa, Sergio Buttiglieri and Marco Buticchi, and to move on to the land, Oscar Farinetti will speak on Mediterranean taste and Carlo Montalbetti and Nando Pagnoncelli will tell how the possibility of living in a healthier environment depends on civic sense and respect for others.
