Gorizia, an immersive, multisensory exhibition on Gustav Klimt at EmotionHall

From November 26, 2022 to April 30, 2023, the EmotionHall in Gorizia, Italy's first permanent arena dedicated to immersive exhibitions, will dedicate a multisensory show to the art of Gustav Klimt: it is titled "Gustav Klimt. Symphony of Immersive Art" and promises to be innovative in its genre.

Scheduled from November 26, 2022 to April 30, 2023 is the immersive exhibition Gustav Klimt. Symphony of Immersive Art, organized in Villesse (Gorizia, Italy ) within theEmotionHall at Meeting Place Tiare Shopping (Ingka Centres Group). The immersive show, sponsored by the City of Gorizia and the Municipality of Villesse, is intended to be a multisensory journey realized by Tiare with the collaboration of Stefano Fomasi, in art Stefano Fake, for the artistic production, the technical support of Ipermediastudio and Mcube, and the strategic consulting of Civita Exhibitions and Museums. A journey into Klimt’s art for all the senses, made possible by digital installations that aim to bring to life in new and surprising ways the works of the Viennese master, who made creative freedom his motto: “To every time its art, to every art its freedom.” Tiare Shopping and its Emotion Hall thus intend to confirm its vocation, which is to experiment with new realities and ways of telling the story of art. EmotionHall is, in fact, Italy’s first permanent immersive arena of about 2,000 square meters modular and interactive, dedicated to art, culture and entertainment.

InGustav Klimt. Symphony of Immersive Art, architecture, sculpture, decoration, music and digital art merge to invite the public to deepen their knowledge of the man and the artist, the understanding of his works, and the stylistic reading through the spectacular staging of painting technique. A seamless immersion, into the symbolic, enigmatic and sensual world of Gustav Klimt, a universal artist who gave image to the culture of his time, new tastes and lifestyles. In his masterpieces he was able to investigate such fundamental themes as life and death, birth and pain, love, the relationship between man and woman, and that between generations. The viewing of his works is accompanied by the memorable music of his time by legendary composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, Strauss and Mahler.

The audience will be able to move between the interactive sensory tunnel, art gallery, mirror room and other surprises. The interactivity of the exhibition aims to assign the visitor the starring role through the play of mirrors and light, giving new life to the works represented. The colors, gold and its glitter will envelop the audience, telling the story of both the masterpieces and the simple and reserved man who became the absolute protagonist of Viennese secessionism. The leitmotif of the exhibition is the “symphony,” the sound that arises from every image of Gustav Klimt, from every painting and every decoration, from the works, and then again the poetry, his ideas, his thoughts, his decorative impulses, never excessive and always elegant and against the current.

In the words of Stefano Fake, a multimedia artist who has been bringing highly successful immersive exhibitions to the world for more than a decade, "Gustav Klimt. Symphony of Immersive Art transforms the Emotionhall space into a museum of the future, i.e., a participatory space within which visitors have immersive, narrative and educational experiences at the same time. Thanks to the many multimedia installations in the exhibition, we try to engage the viewer by putting him or her at the center of the museum experience, to amaze him or her but also to intrigue and invite him or her to explore further. It is a great tribute to the art of the past with a look at the art of the future."

“We are really excited about this new production,” comments Giuliana Boiano, meeting place manager of Tiare Shopping, “and I thank the Gorizia Municipality’s Culture Councillor Fabrizio Oreti and Villesse Mayor Flavia Viola for sponsoring theinitiative, grasping the true essence of our project of expanding the cultural offer of the territory to unconventional places, also with a view to Gorizia and Nova Gorica being the Capital of Culture 2025. We strongly believe that today our meeting places should offer together with the shopping experience also new forms of cultural entertainment, and for this new project we are availing ourselves of the collaboration of Civita Exhibitions and Museums one of the biggest realities in the Italian cultural scene.”

Civita Cultura Holding President Luigi Abete commented on the initiative, "We are very happy to be present in this new EmotionHall initiative, in our role as Corporate Partner, for a twofold reason. Civita has always been a pioneer in opening new avenues for the enjoyment of art. It is precisely our vision: to bring culture closer to people, in this case by combining technology and beauty. That’s why, therefore, we like to be part of this challenge, in this place, which is about to become precisely a new cultural space, where culture is an active part of social and urban innovation processes. Civita is at the side of these new meeting spaces that are emerging - from historic villages to walking paths, from new cultural centers to established cultural capitals - so as to accommodate different functions: cultural entertainment, education, shopping, relaxation, places for relationships. For the country system, these functions are essential, because all of these are engines of ideas, they are engines of economic development, they are engines of sustainable tourism. The second reason why we are very happy to be a Partner in this initiative is the use of multimedia. Civita has long taken up the challenge of new audiovisual technologies in the service of a narrative and educational journey. With the occasion of the exhibition Gustav Klimt. Symphony of Immersive Art we again support this challenge, convinced that precisely this specific approach is not aimed at an event of entertainment only, but at a new expression of art exhibitions, where new languages aimed at reaching new targets coexist. The primary goal is, from this point of view, to regain the attention and interest of the public in compliance with the faster times of daily living, meeting such needs even in new spaces such as those of the Tiare Shopping Center."

Declares Councillor for Culture and Cultural Events of the City of Gorizia Fabrizio Oreti: “In view of the title of Nova Gorica and Gorizia Capital of European Culture we are going to host the world in our territories. Therefore, the involvement between institutions and realities on the territory becomes important. An involvement that between the Municipality of Gorizia and Tiare has already begun with the collaboration for promotion of the Verdi Theater of Gorizia in the multimedia panels of the shopping center and continues with other projects, as in this case, for an important immersive exhibition related to an acclaimed artist in the world that will be admired in an innovative and captivating perspective.”

Mayor of Villesse Flavia Viola also comments: “The municipality of Villesse with favor gives its patronage to the event organized by EmotionHall - Tiare Shopping showing itself as always sensitive to support any activity that can pursue not only theobjective of spreading culture in our territory and beyond, but also that of involving the youngest, specifically schoolchildren both from our and neighboring municipalities, bringing them closer to art in an innovative way that certainly finds greater acceptance in the younger generations. In fact, the organizers, who are not new to this type of event, have already had the opportunity to verify this way of approaching culture, which allows a real immersion in the beauty of pictorial art, accompanied by many narrative cues, always adhering to the facts and biography of the artists. Therefore, strengthened by past experience, once again the beauty of culture is offered within the reach of all, and the municipality cannot but enthusiastically adhere to these laudable initiatives.”

The exhibition opens from Nov. 26, 2022 to April 30, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. (last entry 7:30 p.m.). Closed on Dec. 25, 2022, Jan. 1 and April 9, 2023. Tickets available at TIcketOne and at the Tiare Shopping InfoPoint (tel. 0481 099480).
