On Sunday, March 19, 2023, on the occasion of Father’s Day, the National Museums of Genoa(Palazzo Reale and Palazzo Spinola) will be exceptionally open from 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., with last admission at 6:30 p.m.
With a single full ticket of 10 euros or reduced ticket of 2 euros for EU citizens between 18 and 25 years of age or free for those under 18, it will be possible to visit from 1:30 to 7 p.m. both Palazzo Reale, with its monumental atrium, courtyard of honor, roof garden and its state rooms, and Palazzo Spinola, a historic residence perfectly preserved in its rooms of 17th to 18th-century appearance, with the furnishings and paintings it has been guarding for centuries.
Also at 4:30 p.m. at Palazzo Spinola, the Educational Service is organizing a family-themed guided tour. Stories will be told of fathers and sons who lived in the early 17th century and were immortalized in the portraits painted by Rubens, Van Dyck, Grechetto, Bernardo Strozzi, and Domenico Fiasella on display in the museum. The tour will then continue among the frescoes and paintings that grace the second piano nobile, and the works created by the fathers will be compared with those painted by their sons, Bernardo and Valerio Castello and Gregorio and Lorenzo De Ferrari.
