Free admission to the Capodimonte Museum and Real Bosco in Naples for Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019, on the occasion ofEpiphany.
From 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.30 the second floor of the museum offering the Farnese Collection, the Royal Apartment with the Salone delle Feste, the Armory, the focus exhibition L ’ Opera si racconta and the rediscovered Mario De Ciccio Collection, reopened after six years, consisting of more than 1,300 pieces donated to the museum by the generous patron from Palermo, including glass, bronzes, ivories and medieval enamels, sacred vestments, textiles and embroidery, silverware for liturgical use, bronzes, Sicilian shepherds, archaeological objects and a selection of majolica and porcelain.
From 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., for an additional fee of 4 euros, it will be possible to visit the exhibition Deposits of Capodimonte. Stories yet to be written: the public will be able to admire 1220 works including paintings, sculptures and objects from the deposits of the Capodimonte Museum. Throughout the weekend a rich program of activities, curated by theMusiCapodimonte association: on Friday, January 4, at 4:30 p.m. in the Salone delle Feste, there will be Canti e cunti del Bonagurio; on Saturday, January 5 and Sunday, January 6, children will be welcomed by a mime, in the guise of the “Bella ’mbriana,” a character found in Neapolitan legends who represents good luck in the home. On Sunday, Jan. 6, there will be performances by the Arcoscenico Company and piano pieces in the Salone delle Feste from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The Real Bosco di Capodimonte will also be partially accessible.
