For the first time, the ancient stables of Palazzo Leopardi in Recanati, where Teresa Fattorini, the famous Silvia of the poet’s song, lived, will open to the public.
Starting July 16, it will be possible to visit these ancient rooms of the palace free of charge for two months, specifically two rooms and a kitchen furnished with period furnishings that were once inhabited by the Fattorini family.
The rooms have been restored to make them safe and to restore the original color of the elevations.
“We did not let the fear of the earthquake or the resulting decline in tourism get us down. We need to move forward and overcome this moment of depression as soon as possible in order to restart the Marche region. And it is by looking to the future that we begin again with will and tenacity,” said Count Vanni Leopardi.
Countess Olimpia Leopardi added, “Looking out of the windows it is possible to see ’with Silvia’s eyes’ the windows of the library where Giacomo studied. It is a new perspective.”
