In Nogent-sur-Seine, not far from Paris, the first museum dedicated to Camille Claudel, sculptor, muse and lover of Auguste Rodin, opened on March 26, 2017.

Precisely on the centenary of Rodin’s death, the complex designed by architect Adelfo Scaranello was opened to the public.Starting from the old house where the sculptor lived with her family for four years, Scaranello designed a structure of about 1,300 square meters that would also include the pre-existing Musée Dubois-Boucher.

The Camille Claudel Museum tells its visitors about the cultural and artistic context of the late 19th century and the artist’s sculptural activity through the works of the latter and other artists who resided in Nogent-sur-Seine, such as Alfred Boucher and Paul Dubois.
