European Heritage Days 2022: guided tours and evening openings at museums and cultural sites

European Heritage Days return on Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25. Guided tours and daytime initiatives and special evening openings for 1 euro.

European Heritage Days, Europe’s largest and most participatory cultural event promoted by the Council of Europe and the European Commission, is back.

In Italy on Saturday, September 24 and Sunday, September 25, there will be guided tours, special openings, and digital initiatives organized in state and non-state museums and cultural sites. The theme of the 2022 edition is"Sustainable cultural heritage: a legacy for the future." In addition, on Saturday there will be extraordinary evening openings in state museums with admission at the symbolic cost of 1 euro (excluding statutory free admission).

The events (daytime events and evening openings) of European Heritage Days 2022 are constantly updated on the website of the Ministry of Culture. They will also be posted on the European Heritage Days website and on the institutional channels of individual museums. All events will take place in compliance with current regulations. Each site will provide the necessary directions for safe access and, in particular, to ensure compliance with regulations on the health protection of staff and visitors.

The San Michele Monumental Complex in Rome, headquarters of the General Directorate of Museums, will also be extraordinarily open to the public on this occasion.

You can also follow the initiative on the social channels of museitaliani and EHDays, through the hashtags #GEP2022 #EuropeanHeritageDays #museumsitaliani
