The great artist Emilio Vedova (Venice, 1919 - 2006), one of the world’s leading exponents of informal art, is the protagonist of a film dedicated to him released on the centenary of his birth. On the side of the shipwreck is the title of the documentary film focused on his figure: directed by Tomaso Pessina, it uses the narrator’s voice of Toni Servillo who will read Vedova’s diaries punctuating the sections of the documentary, within which will alternate narration, interviews and recollections of figures such as Germano Celant, Georg Baselitz (who was moreover Vedova’s friend), Alfredo Bianchini (president of the Emilio Vedova Foundation), Karole Vail (director of the Guggenheim Foundation).
