Diffusissima, the first Torino Art Week off-site exhibition that brings contemporary art to city spaces through exhibitions, vernissages, debates, meetings and workshops, is born in Turin. October 24 through November 6, 2022.

Turin sees the birth of Diffusissima, the first Torino Art Week off-site event that bringscontemporary art to city spaces through exhibitions, vernissages, debates, meetings and workshops. Sixteen events, sixty venues involved for more than one hundred artists and two thousand works scattered around the city: in its first edition, the project, curated by Artàporter, kicks off on October 24 and will run until November 6, 2022. From Piazza Statuto to the Murazzi, passing through via Po a diffuse event that crosses the city for two weeks. The event, made possible thanks to the support of the City of Turin, Chamber of Commerce, Torino Social Impact and with Banco di Credito P. Azzoaglio as the main sponsor, stems from Artàporter, the matching platform that connects artists and businesses, aimed at rethinking the commonplaces of art by imagining a new way of exhibiting it.

“Far from being a new contemporary art fair, Diffusissima wants to be a project that brings works and emerging artists outside the canonical spaces, to meet people in the everyday,” explains creator Massimo Gioscia, CEO of Artàporter. “Bringing art outside museums and art galleries means wanting to create new art itineraries in the city, but also new inclusive tourist routes to attract especially a young audience.”

Some locations will therefore be important venues for Diffusissima, where events will involve artists, with discussions, exhibitions and even concerts. These locations include Turin’s Mercato Centrale in Piazza della Repubblica, Porto Urbano (Murazzi del Po), Otium Pea Club at Lingotto, Pos.To and Wellness Creative in Pozzo Strada, the Innovative Square Center in Mirafiori and Open Baladin in Piazzale Valdo Fusi, and the Via Pallavicino 35 OFF TOPIC cultural hub.

Kicking off the event will be a Forum entitled The State of the Art Between Present and Future, which will also be the opening of Diffusissima at the Mercato Centrale in Turin, Monday, Oct. 24 from 6 p.m. (free admission with reservations). Guests Giuliano Ambrosio and Andrea Concas, along with Alvin who becomes Brand Ambassador of Diffusissima also bringing his art projects, Simone Morabito of Brains Evolution, Catawiki staff for an analysis of today’s situation of online art, and Mail Boxes Etc with the launch of a new tool designed for artists.

A new map for art in the city thus also allows people to find their way through a QR code in digital format to find their way around the many events and vernissages offered by Diffusissima. It will also be possible to take an artwork home with you right away, purchasing it directly with your smartphone, whether it is on the wall of a club, in a professional studio or on display.

The event, the brainchild of Massimo Gioscia with Dario Ujetto, also involves art curator Alyona Kosareva on the curatorial board, who on the choice of works involved, says, "The artistic selection of Diffusissima was created to reflect an approach that perfectly matches the founding philosophy of Artàporter. We understand art in an inclusive way, that is, we explore the work of the artist as a person and carrier of messages and not just as a mere cog in a market. Therefore, we have selected more than 100 artists who will primarily be bearers of a message of openness to new exhibition frontiers."
"For this 0 edition of Diffusissima and being sensitive to the delicate socio-economic moment," explains Dario Ujetto, co-founder of Artàporter, “we have made access to the event free for all Hosts. We thus support more than sixty locations by enriching them with beauty thanks to contemporary art.”

Catawiki is also entering Diffusissima by launching two thematic auctions, one of which will be offline for the first time: it will be enough to scan the QR code next to the work on display to enter the site and place your bid.

Finally, Gattinoni will host Rockmantic’s 5 Senses Travel installation to take visitors on a journey involving the five senses through art.

For the occasion, calls for artists will be launched in collaboration with Knowhere Studios and Lefranc Bourgeois in the areas of photography and painting to allow new artists to exhibit at the first edition of Diffusissima. During the event, Artàporter will activate a Funding Pitch on Patreon, and the fees raised will allow emerging artists to receive scholarships to participate in master classes and fund artistic residencies to develop their creative projects. A Call for artists will also be launched together with Cioccolatissima.
